About The Author

Jeff Henson is K-12 music educator who has been teaching elementary music since 1998. He holds a B.A. degree in music from the University of South Florida and a Masters certification in Orff-Schulwerk under the instruction of Jane Frazee. He has been five-time director of the Honors Orff Ensemble for the Hillsborough County Elementary Fine Arts Festival, served as guest conductor for the honors Orff ensembles and choirs in Pasco County, presented for the Greater Tampa Bay Area Orff Chapter and the Florida Music Educatorʼs Association State Conference. He is a professional percussionist and freelance performer with an extensive resume, covering orchestral work, studio session work, musical theater, big bands and Jazz combos, R&B and latin bands. Mr. Henson composes and arranges works for Orff instruments and world percussion, and is also the author of “Great Big House! and Other Folk Songs” published by Playground Music Press.
